Rep. Ilhan Omar tried to stop House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy from quoting her fellow “Squad” member Rep. Rashida Tlaib during the House’s debate on impeachment.

“Stop it!” the Minnesota Democrat can be heard repeatedly shouting while McCarthy paraphrased Tlaib saying in January that Democrats would “impeach the motherf—er,” referring to President Trump.

The four members of the left-wing Squad, Tlaib, Omar, Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, and Rep. Ayanna Pressley, have been some of the leading politicians in pushing Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi to impeach Trump. Tlaib’s “motherf—er” comment was referenced multiple times on Wednesday by Republicans who argued that impeachment was a partisan weapon being wielded by Democrats.

Ahead of the impeachment vote, Pelosi told her caucus to treat the day as a “somber” occasion. The same day, Tlaib posted a gleeful video of her in Congress walking to vote in favor of impeachment.

Trump became only the third president to be impeached. The vote occurred Wednesday evening and passed largely along party lines.
